December 1, 2006, Newsletter Issue #57: Pay for it Yourself

Tip of the Week

Often, a web developer or web hosting reseller will offer to resell hosting services to you, rather than have you deal with the web site hosting company yourself. Be careful here. It might sound easier, but remember that if the developer pays the web hosting company, he effectively owns the site platform and domain name, not you. No problem, as long as you and the developer maintain a good relationship. But if you don't, you could end up in a difficult situation. It's better in the long run if you pay for and control the web hosting platform yourself.
